At Charley's Goldendoodles we only produce multi-generational Goldendoodles.
Multigenerational Goldendoodles are bred from multiple generations of doodle-to-doodle pairings rather than a poodle and a golden retriever cross. Multigens offer a superior coat predictability , higher allergy friendliness and more consistent temperaments, functioning more like a stable, established breed.
Coat types come straight, wavy or curly. The coat type depends on the genetics and the number of curl genes the puppy has. Furnishings is also very important. You want a doodle with at least one furnishing gene. The furnishing gene is what gives the doodle that look and keeps it from shedding. It's responsible for the facial hair on a doodle and that fluffy hair. A Goldendoodle that does not receive a furnishing gene will look like a golden retriever with no long hair on the face and will shed like a golden retriever. We do NOT produce this type of Goldendoodle. All of our Goldendoodle puppies will have non shedding coats and be furnished. We also specialize in multi generational Goldendoodles as their size, coat and temperament are more predictable at this generation.
